Films will be hosted in Real Media format or/and DivX, but as a file to download, not to stream. Streaming servers are very expencive, but a downloadable file also means that there is no loss in quality if there is a bad or slow connection.


There are a few limitations:

1) Your film must be all your own work, and not contain any copyrighted material which you do not own, such as music or   sections of other peoples films.

2) The film cannot be longer than 20 minutes

3) The film cannot contain any 'adult material' - this means sex or nudity.

4) You cannot charge people to donwload the film, this service is free to you and to the whole world.

You will retain all copyright, ownership and everything for the film, including responsiblity. We are not responsible if someone takes offence at your film, or if it is libelous - that's your responsibility. We will not host any film that we think is unsuitable. We don't advertise the film, but it will appear on the danfreak.com film page if you want it to.

This may seem like a lot of scary stuff, but this service is only here because I want to encourage people to make short fun films, and have a way to show them to the world. This is not a business, and offers no guarantees, just a way for people to have their work exhibited. Enjoy and be inspired :)


How!

Ideally you should submit your work to us on a CD in a file format such as MPEG, DIVX, AVI and all related codecs. We can take finished work from video 8mm, Hi8 and Digital 8 tapes, but we can't edit it for you, that's half the fun! Unfortunately we can't take a film from VHS at the moment, but we're working on it! There are many photo shops that can do this for you, such as the Jessops chain in the UK. If you want any help or advice, just get in touch with us.
